Magistrate C. Drew Griffith

The Northwood Mayor's Court serves the City of Northwood, Ohio and operates under the Northwood Municipal Code taken from the Ohio Revised Code and its statutes.  It handles traffic and criminal cases only, ranging from minor misdemeanors to misdemeanors of the first degree.  All felony cases are filed by the Northwood Police Department with the Perrysburg Municipal Court, Perrysburg, Ohio.

History

The Northwood Mayor's Court was established in 1963 with the first session held the 22nd day of June and operates pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code and the Northwood Codified Ordinances.  The Court has jurisdiction within the Municipal Corporation of Northwood, Ohio, Wood County.  Court sessions are held in the Council Chambers of the City of Northwood Municipal Building.

Mrs. Ruth Frederick was appointed as the first Clerk of Court by Mayor George H. Dalling and held that position until January 31, 1966.  Ms. Janet S. Kulczak was then appointed in February of 1967 and retired March 31, 2003.  Deputy Clerk of Court Laura Schroeder was appointed in 1985 and became Clerk of Court on April 1, 2003.  Magistrate Jeffery B. Keller has presided over the Court from 1995 until 2004 when C. Drew Griffith became magistrate.  The duties of the Clerk of Court's Office are also governed by the Ohio Revised Code and the Northwood Codified Ordinance.
