There are four parks in the City of Northwood, Ohio to enjoy. BRENTWOOD PARK is located at 320 Brentwood Drive, which is off of Tracy Road between Wales and Andrus Roads. CENTRAL PARK is located at 6010 Wales Road next to the City Municipal Building and behind Great Eastern Shopping Center. NATURE TRAILS PARK is located at 4950 Curtice Road between Bradner and Fostoria Roads. RANGER PARK, our newest park, is located at 3201 Curtice Road next to the northbound Interstate-280 entrance ramp. Brentwood ParkAt Brentwood Park picnic areas, a lighted tennis court, a basketball court, soccer fields, T-Ball diamond, softball diamonds, and children's playgound equipment can be found. In the fall of 2009 a new Miracle League baseball field opened. The Miracle League of Northwest Ohio is an organization whose mission is to construct a rubberized baseball field in Northwest Ohio giving kids with disabilities the chance to play baseball just like other kids. This field provides children an opportunity to experience the joy of playing our national pastime - baseball!
BRENTWOOD PARK'S RULES Central ParkCentral Park has an outdoor Shelter that includes picnic tables and a wood-burning fireplace. Other features at this location are a lighted tennis court, a basketball court, a baseball diamond, additional picnic areas, and a playground for young children with play stations.
CENTRAL PARK'S RULES Nature Trails ParkThe Nature Trails Park is a naturalist, passive type park which stresses both the need for wildlife habitats while preserving the wet prairie lands and the "Black Swamp" heritage of the area. At your own pace you can enjoy the park, its wildlife and scenery by jogging, walking or strolling on the one-mile trail.
Ranger ParkRanger Park has a five-acre, fifty-five feet deep, stocked fishing pond, walking trail, picnic tables, park benches, and is totally surrounded by fencing. It is the newest park in the City of Northwood and was officially dedicated on June 16, 2008 and was named through a "Name the City Park Contest" which was open to Northwood students in grades five through eight. The 1st Place winner was Northwood Middle School student Beverly Manning. The 2nd Place winner was Megan Roach and 3rd Place went to Dustin Bolton. The winners each received a fishing reel, tackle box and lures.
