From its beginning in 1951 when the Ross Township Fire Department was formed, our fire department has a proud history of public service to the community.

The City of Northwood Fire Department is a public department with members being paid-on-call. Our first-due response area includes the 8.4 square miles of the city along with its residents and guests. The Fire Department operates out of 2 stations on opposite ends of the city. Station 82 located on 6000 Wales Road attached to the Municipal Building, and Station 83 located on 2100 Tracy Road.  We also cover many of the surrounding communities with either automatic or mutual aid agreements.

Automatic aid and mutual aid agreements include:

  • Lake Township Fire Department
  • Rossford Fire Department
  • Perrysburg Township Fire Department
  • Allen-Clay Joint Fire District
