The regular meeting of the Northwood City Council was called to order by Mayor Mark Stoner, on January 10, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Northwood Municipal Building.
The Pledge of Allegiance was then given.

Recommendations for Appointment for Northwood Court :
I recommend the reappointment of Drew Griffith to serve as the Northwood Court Magistrate for year 2013 at the current rate of pay of $60.00 per hour. Beginning January 1, 2013 thru December 31, 2013.
Motion to approve reappointment of Magistrate Griffith:

I recommend the reappointment of James M. Sharp and the appointment of Mellisa M. Purpura as alternate magistrates for Northwood Court, per the recommendation of Magistrate Drew Griffith for the year 2013.

Fire Department:
Josh Hartle has resigned from his position with the Northwood Fire Department.
Firefighter/EMT Tyler Donnell has completed his probationary period with the Fire Department.
Firefighter/Paramedic Christe Poiry is no longer a member of the Northwood Fire Department.
Firefighter/Paramedic Tim Romstadt resigned his position with the fire department.
Brian Dempsey has been promoted to the rank of Captain at Fire Station #2.

City Administrator Report:

City Administrator Anderson spoke:
1.) Reminder that we will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on January 24, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.
2.) Announced that Hostess might be sold, we should know with in the up coming days.
3.) Woodville Mall has changed owners.
4.) TMACOG has sent out a invitation for the General Assembly if anyone would like to attend this meeting it will be January 29, 2013 from 1:30 P.M. -6:00 P.M.
5.) Reminder that the Safety Committee Meeting will be January 24, 2013 at 6:30 P.M.

Councilman Gallaher, would like to take the City Engineer’s contract to Committee of the Whole to discuss looking into getting new bids for a City Engineer also to discuss if the Engineer really needs to attend these meetings or if he could just give the report to City Administrator to announce what is going on.

Persons Appearing Before Mayor and Council:

Mike Tawil (Woodville Auto Finance) 4510 Woodville Road, Northwood Ohio 43619: Appealing the ARC’s decision on his proposed additional sign.
Requesting to but up a LED light sign that scrolls in his car lot. Said that Kimbery Vaculik , Planning and Zoning Coordinator referred to him to come to council to approve his sign.
City Attorney said he would have Kimberly call him to set up when he goes to Planning Commission. City Attorney told Mike Tawil it would be in his best bring pictures of the signs in Oregon. Mike Tawil also made mention that there are many other businesses in Northwood that would like to have scrolling signs. Mayor Stoner recommended that he bring any testimonial he had to help support his case.
